Tank Cleaning

Sludge, resulting from fuel contamination and water, grows in fuel tanks over time regardless of the stability, sulfur level, or overall quality of the fuel. This can lead to fouling of operating systems - especially filters - as well as pitting corrosion that eventually leads to tank failure.

Many tank cleaning service companies offer what is known as "fuel polishing" - a process that circulates the fuel through filters until it looks clean, but leaves the sludge at the bottom of the tank resulting in continued issues. Another common method is the use of a vacuum truck which removes all of the fuel from the tank but again, most of the sludge is still left at the bottom of the tank. Plus, the customer has to pay to have the perfectly good fuel removed as well as pay for replacement fuel, meanwhile the true problem has not been eliminated.

With the Fuel Right Tank Cleaning Service we:

  1. Remove and dispose of any free water on the bottom
  2. Clean the tank bottom, top and sidewalls, to remove all sludge
  3. Filter the fuel to remove solids larger than 10 microns
  4. Return cleaned fuel back to the tank
  5. Treat with Fuel Right to prevent re-growth of sludge

There is no resulting carryover of sludge to plug filters, lines and strainers, and almost no loss of fuel in the process. Also, any pitting corrosion that was occurring under the sludge is stopped in its tracks.
